Philosophy1 Thessalonians 5:6, 8-11 6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. 8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, 10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. 11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. In all areas of faith & practice, JBC operates under the full & final authority of the Bible. We believe that the King James Bible is THE Word of God, for the English speaking people. JBC is an autonomous, local church body that adheres to Baptist Distinctives. We are committed to the truth that we are to join together for two distinct reasons: 1. To consider one another. 2. To provoke and exhort one another to live out the Biblically-based principles that fulfill the cause of Christ (Hebrews 10:24-25). |
pastor1 Thessalonians 5:12-13 12 And we beseech you, brethren, to know them which labour among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you; 13 And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves. Our pastor has faithfully & fervently served in the full time ministry for over 20 years. After graduating from Bible college with a Master's of Pastoral Theology, he and his growing family served in the ministries of JBC for thirteen years as an Assistant Pastor & Principal. After much prayer and under the Holy Spirit's leading, he left JBC and her ministries with a call to the pastorate. Over an eight year span, he and his family ministered to two independent Baptist churches in the Midwest. As the Lord continued to lead in his life, he and his family accepted the call to come back and pastor JBC. He and his family are looking forward to seeing the great things that God is going to do again at JBC. |
PurpOsE1 Thessalonians 5:14-15 14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men. 15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men. At JBC, each of the members, including the pastor, are evidence that the Lord redeems and repurposes broken and imperfect vessels. At JBC, we have several core values that serve to guide our purpose in ministering. 1. We are ministry-minded. We understand that our church and ministries are not to be a museum of saints, but rather a spiritual hospital open to minister to all. This truth undergirds our resolute belief that there is a place of service for all within our body. 2. We are mission-minded. We believe that it is our responsibility to fulfill our role in the Great Commission. Therefore, we actively seek to do our part to reach, teach, and preach to our church and community, our country, and ultimately, the whole world. |
